  • Planned, Executed and achieved Operations of a 225MW new Unit as an Expansion for The Hub Power Company Limited at Narowal, Punjab. Conceived the project, negotiated & signed all contracts including approvals from NEPRA, Banks & Stakeholders and achieved financial closing. The project has fruitfully started Operations during 2011.
  • Initiated the Successful Acquisition of an 84 MW Hydro Power Project by HUBCO in 2008-9. Organised its Financial Close by Renegotiating with Contractors, Other Stakeholders and arranging Additional Financing.
  • Team Leader for the Crescent Group led consortium for the Buyout of the Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company Ltd. and Carrier Telephone Industries Ltd., under the GoP Privatisation programme.
  • Led the NDFC teams, which achieved Financial Close (leading to commercial operations) for some of the largest Infrastructure Projects in Pakistan's

  • Led arrangement for the First Time in Pakistan, a US$ 75 million Counter Guarantee Syndicate for a Usance Letter of Credit through a consortium of Pakistani Private Sector Commercial Banks
  • Successfully arranged Funding for various Projects and IPP's in the lead of the World Bank through Bilateral & Multilateral agencies and Commercial Lenders.
  • Head of Projects: Expansion for Hubco through new projects and acquisition. Initiated, Developed, Negotiated & Executed Contracts, Arrangements of Finances and Financial Close, Execution and Implementation, and Commercial Operations.
  • Led NDFC's team for Hubco's Senior Rupee Facility Syndication Arrangement for US$ 100 million rupee equivalent. (largest Rupee financing in Pakistan at the time)
  • Arranged Long Term Subordinated, and Limited Recourse Financing for the First time in Pakistan.
  • Under World Bank, assisted in the resourcing of the PSEDF,
  • Established and Developed new institutions in terms of financial & organisational structuring, developing systems, producing policy proposals & documents, etc.

  • Introduced Computer based Financial Modeling in DFI's in 1985 for Agrobased industries, Chemical Industries and ultimately used the experience for IPP's Tariff Projections and Financial Analysis.
  • Planned and achieved a successful Restructuring & Merger of 3 Leasing companies and an Investment Bank resulting in the creation of the Crescent Standard Investment Bank Limited.
  • Vast Experience of Project Appraisal & Reporting, Negotiations of Credit Lines and Project Loans; Worked under the supervision of the World Bank to Identify different Resources needed by PSEDF targeted projects; Arranged funds from new sources i.e. Export Credits and Bilateral & Multilateral Funding Agencies; dealt with Export Credit Agencies; Negotiated with clients as Fund Administrator; Prepared reports for the World Bank and other Multilateral and Bilateral Institutions. Used for the First time Computer Based Financial Projections Modelling, a capability developed inhouse under my supervision, especially for IPP's Tariff Calculations. Probably we were the only institution, at the time, in Pakistan with this capability.
  • Worked on assignments with the World Bank as a Consultant-Financial Specialist in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
